Birds Hill Provincial Park
The Park is 8,300 acres in size [about 35 km2] and is named after the first speaker- Dr. Bird- in the Provincial Legislature. Much of the land was expropriated from 150 farmers. Due to the (slight) elevation, this area also served, many decades ago, as a "human refuge" during floods (of the Red River).

It is located 24 kilometers north of Winnipeg on Highway 59, and covers approximately 8,300 acres (3,400 hectares) or 35.1 km 2 (13.6 square miles).

The campground of Bird's Hill Provincial Park is made up of rings upon rings of campsites - a bit confusing. We got Song Bay - site 13E (~$20 for power only) which is also in a ring of powered campsites circling a dirt patch and small lawn of sorts featuring a bathroom station and wifi reception.

There are several festivals hosted here throughout the summer months, beaches, and restaurants to visit. It makes for a perfect weekend getaway but, also has enough to see and do to make a full week long summer vacation.
