Zabriskie Point is named in honor of Christian B. Zabriskie who was a prominent figure in the area during the late 1800's and early 1900's. Zabriskie resided in the area and was a corporate figure for the Pacific Borax Company (1). Borax is also known as sodium borate and is more commonly known as a safe and natural cleaner.

Day 2 - Zabriskie Point, Mosaic Canyon, Ubehebe Crater & More Sunrise at Zabriskie Point. If you're only taking 2 days to explore Death Valley, I highly recommend starting your second day by viewing the sunrise. It can be a push to get up early enough for sunrise, which can be as early as 5:30am depending on the time of year but trust me.

Sunrise on Zabriskie Point is beautiful and with the rising or setting of the sun brings color changes that are amazing and rock formations come alive. If you are a photographer you must get up an hour or two before sunrise and drive and walk to see anything in the park but this point especially if you want to enjoy the full power of the landscape.
